My First Visit

If you are going to be visiting Northland Baptist Church for the first time, we hope that you find the following information helpful.  As always, if you have further questions, feel free to e-mail or call the church office (816) 587-2268.

What time are the services?

We offer two services each Sunday morning at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. These are identical services, that each last about an hour and fifteen minutes. The only difference is that the early service has a bit smaller crowd.

What do I do with my children?

If you have children with you, feel free to bring them with you to the worship service. However, we are confident that they will enjoy the quality nursery care and exciting children’s classes we offer. Nursery care is provided in both services. Sunday School classes for elementary children and teenagers are offered during the early service, while Children’s Church for preschool through first grade is offered during the late service.

The nursery check in station is located just steps for the worship lobby. You will be greeted by a nursery worker who will collect some information about your child, and give you a special identification tag to present when you pick up your child. You can rest assured that each of our workers has undergone a background check, and been provided specialized training.

What should I wear?

If you like to dress up when you attend church, then you will find several people in dresses and ties. If you prefer to dress a bit more casual, you’ll blend right in with a lot people in jeans as well. You wear whatever makes you comfortable. (Well, if you come in pajamas and fuzzy slippers, you’ll probably stand out a bit.)

What should I expect from the service?

The service usually begins with an opening praise song, followed by a brief greeting time and an opening prayer. Then our worship team leads us in a time worship through music. Our music is a good blend of new worship songs and great traditional music as well. Pastor Matt then brings a message  from God’s Word. We think you’ll find the messages to be true the Biblical text and relative to everyday life. Feel free to check out some of our online sermons.
